Default Subclassing

Hello! I thought I would be the first to put a post here, but two already have beaten me! Dang it! Oh well. Anyways I was just wondering if there was a way for me to subclass another application's window without using the SendMessage and PostMessage and GetWindow API. Is there a wrapper for these API's in the MFC classes, or in the new Framework 1.1. I would be very intrested in learning how to do this or point me to a couple of books maybe. I would also like to know how to subclass or create small third party software to work with an application that is not of my own, without using the SendMessage or the PostMessage, since some software have these API's disabled to communicate with it, to prevent third part utilities.

Thanks a bunch!
