if you really want help from people you don't ask questions that you can answer yourself in a split second using Google.

Many people have said it before and I'll be happy to repeat it for you: we're here to help you, not do your work for you.

Your questions clearly indicates you just want us to do your work. In no way are showing that you did some research like a Google search, tried out some code and and so on. All you asked for is ready-made sample code so your work was done.

Seriously: a Google search for the keywords that Sam mentioned would have given you the same code you asked for seconds before your Wrox post was e-mail out to its subscribers. So, you could have gotten your answer two days ago yourself.....

This is not to say you can't ask questions here; quite the contrary. But you'll find you get much better answers if your questions show you have done your own work as well.

Cheers,

Imar

IMO, you're wrong. This is probably the fairest answer you can get.

In other forums, your question could return the following results:

1. RTFM
2. <Nothing> (e.g. you're being ignored).

Here, at p2p.wrox.com we try to help you help yourself. Being able to find the information yourself with the wealth of information that is available is a critical asset in any developer's toolbox. Without it, you're lost.

Teach a man how to fish and stuff like that.....

Seconded!

Very well said Imar.

The good gents (do we have female members?! ) here are not trying to be "unfair". Put simply, you DO have an idea, since you were able to ask the question. If you had entered your question into Google, it would have led you to some sites that can help you get more understanding. Thats the key to programming (or any job for that matter). If you need help with issues with code, then thats what we are here for.

Simply coming on to a forum and asking for tutorials/code, and then crying "unfair" when you dont get it is NOT on. The people here will try and help you become a BETTER programmer, so you can write your own code and more importantly solve your own problems so you get away from being the "clueless noob" on a forum that ends up on the "shoddy programmer" scrapheap that seems to be ever-growing.

Try not thinking the whole world is out to get you. Go do the Google, see how you get on, if you get stuck, we will be here waiting.

Good luck. :)

You do have a female member!!
But lets be honest boys we are not going to refer to you as the Sunshine Kids either!!!
But yes first try to help yourself then ask for help it is difficult to HELP when what people actually want is a ready made instant solution.
