Default ASP Email Client

My current hosting company does not allow me to register dlls and other components. I was wondering if using the basic classic ASP built-in features and no additional components, if it is possible to create a ASP web-based email client? I like the challenge of creating my own custom script of this kind, but am short on information regarding it. Thanks for any advice/answers!

Also, is there a way using an asp script I can see what kinds of things are installed and running on my server, kind of like the phpinfo() thing? Thanks again.

Hi

Service providers normally have got their own components you could use e.g Formmail.pl or similar components? You could also use CDONTS but that requires SMTP to run on that box.

You could use the MS Winsock Control(if Win) with telnet type commands to port 25 but you will have problems relaying via smarthosts as 90% of them will discard the mails due to spam filters...

If you manage to put something together let me know!

Marnus
