Index Search Engine Issue

Hi, I created a small ASP Search application using Microsoft Indexing Service. I've used the objects "IXSSO.QUERY" & "IXSSO.UTIL". In the Computer Management Console, I created a new Catalog named "Trying" under the Indexing Service and included the directory accordingly.

In the Utility.AddScopeToQuery, the depth of search is given as "deep". And the objQuery.Query is like "(@contents " & strSrch & ")", where strSrch is the value from the textbox.

Further a nonsequential recorset object is created, but the number of records returned is zero.

I'm searching for a word "Demonstrates" which is present within the <BODY> tag in an .asp file. If I query for the same word in the Computer Management Console using "Query the Catalog" function, I get the desired output, but fails to work from the .asp file that I wrote.

However searchs from other catalog "Web" is working from the .asp file that I wrote. Is there something that I need to configure further or add extra code?? Please guide me!

Hi there,

Does your Web server have sufficient permissions for the files in the index?
AFAIK, the index server only returns records that the "current user" is allowed to access. If that current user is your Web server (IUSR account) you may get less results than when *you* query the catalog.
