Default IIS Problem with ASP Pages

Hi all,

I am having a major problem with the settings in IIS to allow me to serve asp pages.
I have tried many alternatives only to come up with the same error.

It is a typical 404 page not found error, but the page is there.
If I cahnge the file extension to htm from asp the page can be found fine.(Although with no asp output, but it did find it)

Friendly errors are off.

I have the .NET framework installed and visual studio.net but I do my classic asp code in Homesite 4.5.2.

THis is the first classic asp site I have set up locally since installing .NET.

OS: MS Server 2003

I am guessing this is a security/access issue but no ammount of tinkering with settings has generated any better results.

Currently the Virtual Directory is not in inetpub, although it has been during other attempts. I have set read and write access, script source access, Script and executable permissions and anonymous access is enabled.

Can anyone Narrow down the variable for me as I am going arround in circles here.

I have a couple of ASP.NET directories that run fine on the machine and as i said the html pages are also fine, its just Classic ASP pages that are "Not Found".

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Rod,

Take a look at this FAQ: http://imar.spaanjaars.com/QuickDocID.aspx?QUICKDOC=254

It's written for ASP.NET Whidbey, but the same applies to classic ASP as well. I think you have to enable "Active Server Pages".

HtH,

Imar

Once again it is Imar to the rescue.
That was exactly the problem and all is fixed now.

Thank you very much again Imar, your assistance is always greatly appreciated.
