Default Could not read some values in Excel

Hi! I've been trying to read values from an Excel file. I just have one problem. When I'm trying to access a particular column, some values could not be read. The entries may be alphanumeric or an integer. Usually when a number (single character) is entered, ASP could not read it. Can someone please tell my why this happens and how can i solve this? Thanks!

Try converting the field value to a string...

  MyValue = cStr(FieldValue) OR
  MyValue = cStr(rs("FieldValue"))

Then you can use it in some other critria such as...

  Select * From whatever where Field = '" & MyValue & "'"
