Default PPT to JPG through VBSCRIPT

Hello everybody,

well i have a powerpoint file "somefile.PPT"

now MS-Powerpoint when open allows the file to be saved in JPG format .. this option is

present in the SAVE AS.. option .. by this what happens is that the file is stored as an

JPG image ...

is it possible to convert a given valid PPT file to JPG file without opening powerpoint and

using VBSCRIPT code ...

Plz help .. thanks in ADVANCE...

Sudhan.

Hi Sudhan,

Are you looking for a tool that does this job for you without having powerpoint installed in your system?

OR

You want to create a tool of your own?
Maybe you can do some research on the Windows/powerpoint component that does the convert of PPT to JPG and use that in your VBScript code. Let me also try to find that out, if any on the web.

Just surprised, if at all powerpoint can do that for you why do you want to do it on your own.;)

Cheers!

Hi Vijay,

Actually in my application the ADMINISTRATOR regularly changes the IMAGES that are displayed on various pages ... the adnministrator himself edits the images using POWERPOINT and hence the files are stored as .PPT ...

But i want to display the images as .JPG .. hence what i want to do is that when the ADMIN says that he wants to change one of the image one of my forms will ask him for the PPT file which stores the image .... them my VBSCRIPT code has to ocnvert this PPT into JPG without the ADMIN knowing it and then display this JPG onto the ASP pages ...

well i talked to the ADMIN and he refuses the PPT files to be displayed directly ... so i have to convert it into JPG before i can display them ...

hope now you are clear with the prob..

Sudhan.

Just a thought, Can VBA do that for us, by invoking the FILE... SAVE AS... JPG... stuff like that. Really got to test that out, if that works.

I will not be around for the day, in a while from now. Let me try that out probably tomorrow.

Cheers!
