Default FileScriptingObject Permissions denied

Hi! I'm trying to create a text file using File Scripting Object. But when I tried to run the program/page, I get a permission denied error. What should I do?

I checked the Security settings in IIS, the anonymous user is already given read/write access. What am I missing here? Hope someone can help me out on this..thanks!

Hi there,

There are other factors too involved in this.

Check if your IUSR_COMPUTERNAME has relavant permissions. Also where are you trying to create text file? Is that you are trying to create on the web server or some other system? You haven't mentioned about that.

Cheers!

Where will I check if IUSR_pcname is given the appropriate permission? In IIS right? Under directory Security, the account being used for anonymous access is the IUSR_pcname.

Should ALLOW IIS TO CONTROL PASSWORD be checked?

In IIS, all the roles are already checked...but I still get Permission denied.

I'm currently trying to create this in localhost. What other factors are involved?

Thanks happygv

Hi! I was finally able to load the page..but I gave the user Everyone full access. I would like to restrict the security for the page.

I've noticed that there are other present users which I'm not familiar with. Some are:

pcname admins
pcname authors
pcname browsers

Should these users be given the read/write permissions?

The IUSR_computername user account exists in your system (that runs IIS) which has to be given permissions to read/write on the folder that contains the text file/where you would like to create the text file.

Then you should be able to do that without any trouble.

Cheers!
