In Chap 6 of Beg ASP 3.0 I'm asked to install a program and run setup... Since I don't host my own page and am using a subdirectory within my domain, will my ASP allow me somehow to install this on their server without any problem...

If I were you, I would have posted it under Beginning ASP 3.0 for better response.

This will depend on your hosting provider's policy about dll's in general and third party components.

All you can do is ask them. My own provider is pretty good about it all, and registers my dll's without any problems. They also make sure that all the correct permissions are set for me.

When I have wanted to install some third party stuff, such as forum pages, they test it out first to make sure it is not going to screw things up for me or other people using the shared server, and install it if everything is OK.

As a general rule, ask first.
