I'm trying to use the replace function but when I use the following code, the page appears blank for the database field in question when I know there is data in it:

this is my code:

<% if not isNull(rsArticle("Detail")) then %>
        <%=replace(rsArticle("Detail"), vbcrlf, "<br>")%></p>
  <% end if %>

Hi,

  I didn't find problem here. Check whether data is there or not.
Otherwise response.write "Hello" in the condition to test whether the
condition is satisfying or not.

Hi Rajani - thanks for your post; I've taken the

if then statement out and I get this error when I just use the following code:

    <%=replace(rsArticle("Detail"), vbcrlf, "<br>")%>

this is the error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a005e'

Invalid use of Null: 'replace'

not sure why this is happening....

Hello Adam,

  Dont remove that IF condition. It must be there.

Jus follow this way


while not rs.EOF
    if not isnull(rs("detail")) then
    Response.Write replace(rs("detail"),vbcrlf,"<br>") & "<br>"
    end if
        rs.MoveNext
    wend
    rs.Close
    set rs=nothing
    conclose


Still getting error, post your code.
