Is there a way that I can combine the technologies and methods of application variable and session variables to find out if a user's session is still active at some remote location?

I wanna get that done without the use of any global.asa functions.... So that means.. no onsesison_end or onapplication end or stuff like.

Please don't ask why. Just anyone.... i spelt out my problem.... Please help!!! :(

I could not understand your requirement very well. But

Response.IsClientConnected

Will give you the info that whether the client is still active(connected and waiting for the response from server). This is normally used in loops which execute for a long time. Before the start of the loop we can check the connection status.

If it is that the session expiry is to be detected, I don't know any method other than programming onSessionEnd event.
