Default Charts & Graphs

Hello,

I'm developing an ASP site with a SQL Server 2000 backend. Can anyone recommend a third-party tool that can accept parameters collected via ASP, query the database, and generate a dynamic report? I'd like to create line graphs, pie charts, etc. (bar graphs I can do myself).

Crystal Reports is not an option due to cost: they charge a license fee for each concurrent user, which gets pretty crazy. Also, ASP.Net is not an option; the site (and my knowledge) is classic ASP only.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,

You may want to take a look at components created by Dundas. They have a free library that generates graphics on the fly. It looks good and best of all, it's free.

It just generates graphs, no reports, AFAIK. However, you can of course easily combine your own reports with their graphs.

You can find more info about it here.

That's an excellent suggestion, thank you. I visited the Dundas site but totally missed that offering. However, I'd like something a little more flexible, e.g. line graphs. Cost is an issue, but there is a budget available, albeit a small one that can't cover Crystal's fees.

Are there any other suggestions?

We use one that cost about $100 and has been a really great tool. It is called Chart Director and can be found at:
