Default How to create a search program?

Hey,

I have a html site, and I want to create a search field, where the user just enters words and it searches the web pages. And when the results are found, should i just display the link to that page with the keywords found?

Im clueless... thanks

Hi,

One thing you can use to search your site is your web server's Indexing Service. You can ask your web hosting provider if it is enabled on the server you are on or if you have your own web server, you can check if Indexing Service is installed and running.

Cheers!

Yes, you can call them up and ask if they offer the service. If not, there are lots of free ASP site search scripts out there that you can use. Most are very easy to setup but they may or may not require you to use at least an MS Access database for search information.

Cheers!
