Default declare a ASP variable with a TYPE

is it possible to declare a ASP variable with a TYPE.

I dont believe so. You can set a type after you have decliared it.
Dim bNoRecords
bNoRecords = false 'set to true false
'Now just set it to true somewhere on the page conditionaly

bNoRecords = "" 'sets to string
