I think what you need is to use NT authentication for accessing the web server, instead of anonymous.

For Internet Information Service, go to the properties page of your web folder, select Directory Security, click Edit for anonymous access and authentication control, uncheck the anonymous access box.

Is there a way to have the browser send the username from a Windows domain to the server? I have a series of web pages on a closed intranet, so all of my users are logged into a XP domain. What I would like is to have the code ask the browser what that user's login name is, get it into a string variable, and go from there.
