Default code clinic - Why wont example asp code work?

I am reading Beginning Active Serv pages 3.0, and installed IIS 5.0 as described. It mentioned that there are example codes in the Inetpub folder. I navigated to\Inetpub\iissamoples\sdk\asp\database\ and ran simplequery_vbscript.asp.
The results I get is two lines:
Simple ADO Query with ASP
and
Contacts within the Authors Database
Then a small square!!!

huh?

I am on a lan, however my inetpub is on my D drive. Is there something i should be doing in the setup of IIS? Or what.....

Thanks

Thanks In Advance

When you say ran. What exactly do you mean (you can not just click on an asp page)

You should open a browser:
http://localhost/dirName/pageName.asp

EG:
http://localhost/localstart.asp

FYI: The above page address will open up the IIS help windows. If it doesnt you have not installed and started IIS properly. Does it?
