We use a product called Active PDF toolkit:
http://www.activepdf.com for a lot of the work on both Wrox Blox (
www.wrox.com/go/blox) and Wrox Chapters on Demand (
http://www.wrox.com/go/chaptersondemand) which are both products we deliver in PDF. For these, we use the toolkit to programatically add customer watermarks to each of the PDFs we sell and for Chapters on Demand, we also use it for a lot of the prep work of changing PDF chapters for the book printer into something suitable for electronic sale.
I tell you all this because we're happy with ActivePDF and they also have a tool called ActivePDF Server that will do the Word to PDF you're looking for, complete with the following ASP example:
http://www.activepdf.com/support/kno...exASP&code=ASP
We don't use that particular product and you'd need to look at the details to see if that's what you need or their DocConverter:

Either way, I think you can easily do the Doc To PDF from C# or
VB.NET as well and access that from ASP.NET.
What I don't know is if their products do the reverse, the PDF to Doc. They have free trials so I'm sure you can download them and bang on it to see if it does what you need.
