Default ASP.Net

Guys,

I have just started with ASP 3.0 and want to learn ASP.Net eventually. Someone told me that ASP 3.0 has become kind of obsolete. Is it a good idea to continue with ASP 3.0 and then dive into ASP.Net 1.1?

Please advise.

Old asp requires a different mindset from ASP.net. If you have the choice, go with ASP.net.

There are several discussions of this topic on various categories of this forum. I can't remember where they are (sorry) but poke around and you should be able to find them by the thread topic.

The two are very different. Dot Net is the newest and generally in the software world it is best to go with the newest. Dot Net is closer to Visual Basic than it is to ASP. However, I would not say that learning ASP 3.0 is a waste of time.
