Default Tracer

My website went down for about 10 minutes today. All I was getting in IE was a page cannot be displayed error. I emailed my webhost and told them. Then just before they got back to me it come back online. I am not sure what happened they said everything was fine. but anyways they asked me to next time "run a tracer from your pc and send the results to us". Can someone tell me what that means. Or what I am suppose to do.

Thanks

You'll have to ask the web host what they mean. What they mean by "a tracer" might not be what a programmer would think is a tracer. I couldn't even say what I would think "a tracer" would be.

But perhaps they meant "trace route". Unfortunately, this wouldn't have helped you as you could get to the server, but it was generating errors.
