Default Session expires immediately

I have developed a site in asp / access and users have to log in to view the site.
The site was running fine until it was shifted to a new server.
Now, whenever I log in, it displays the next page where I am informed that I am not logged in.
Sometimes, I am able to browse the site for sometime and then suddenly the session expires.
The behavious is not consistent, atall.

I have tried changing the time of expire, but it doesnt seem to work.

Any suggestion?

How are you detecting the logged in status?
A stab in the dark:
If its sessions and you are on a 2003 box you need to enable sessions

I got the same problem,

our hosting firm says it has enabled sessions and put it on
30 min or so

but i've noticed the problem is during daytime and not during the night.

is it possible that the server does not have enough memory installed...

;;;I got the same problem

There was no clear problem in the initial post, what exactly is your problem? Specific error(s) and behaviours would be the best way to solve what ever the problem is.

My session expires randomly

(I use a login page which uses session variables. On each page the session variable (eg username) is checked, if empty you will be redirected to the login page)

the session expires randomly thats the strange thing, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a 2 minutes, sometimes after 30 minutes

I have never experienced this. If this happened at the same time on the same page(s) I would suggest a code problem, since its so random - im not to sure - sorry I couldnt be any help.

If you have changed your service provider they may be using load balancing which would mean your SessionVariables would not be held, and would explain why this happens suddenly, inconsistently and mostly during the day (when the traffic is at it´s highest). I had this problem and rather than write a complex application to handle the problem I changed to a ISP that did not use load balancing. Don´t know if this is the reason but worth asking them. This article may also help?
