Thanks for your help everyone.

Basically what we've created is a simple document management system. It uses an access database on a Windows 2000 IIS5 server. I'm using Dreamweaver to create the connection to the database.

The database is very simple - just one table - and holds the basic info about each document.

I've created a couple of search forms that allow users to search the database and retrieve the documents.

Generally it works very well, but every so often we encounter some strange error. We have always been able to get over these errors by resetting the server.

sinapra - This particular error is weird because it doesn't actually display a normal error description - all it shows is what I posted earlier.

pgtips - I have googled for this error, and not much comes up. I came across that aspfaq page too - but none of the scenarios they list seem to fit with ours.

I'll have to ask the sa to reset the server yet again, and see if this error occurs again.

happygv - the IT guys have said that they will be updating to IIS6 Win2K3 soon. I guess that will include the latest drivers? I'll talk to them about it.

thakns again
