Default Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e10'

Hello, I'm trying to write a script for a basic message board, but have encounter a problem while trying to retrieve the post count on the display message page. The script below is supposed to test against USERNAME to single out one record, and then display the post count.

The error I get is "Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e10'

No value given for one or more required parameters."

Here is the problematic code:

<%
dim objConn1, user
Set objConn1 = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
objConn1.Provider = "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0"
objConn1.ConnectionString = "Data Source=" & Server.MapPath ("forum.mdb")
objConn1.Open

user = request.querystring("User")
strSQL1 = "Select * From MEMBERS WHERE USERNAME=&user&"
set objRS1 = server.CreateObject ("ADODB.RecordSet")
objRS1.Open strSQL1, objConn1,1,2
%>

The error message would lead me to believe that the variable is not being carried over... but it is... so it must be how I've set up the SELECT line... please write back with your comments and suggestions, thank you in advance.

strSQL1 = "Select * From MEMBERS WHERE USERNAME='" & user & "'"

I knew I must have screwed up the syntax in the select line!
It works perfectly. Thank you, I greatly appreciate it.
