Default Recordset Update question

i am coding in classic asp and have the following problem:

website showing addresses, that users can update through a form. users update a specific recordset, whcih requires review & approval by myself. before i have reviewed & approved the recordset, the old version should still be online. as soon as i approve the update request, the old version gets updated.

how can i manage to do that?

thanks for your help, mark

Have one extra field in your database along with address as "verified" (it can be MS Access Yes/No or SQL Server bit field). in your admin related form also have a checkbox "verified". Once you have reviewed the address check the checkbox which will eventually update that db field and then and then only user will be able to see the updated address.

I think you need a temporary table which its fields just exactly like the real table and 1 field as your reference to real table, when users update it's stored in this temporary table, and when you approve, it updates the real table and deletes data on the temporary.

tblUsers (the real one)

tblUsersTemp (the temporary)
users_id (reference to record_id in tblUsers)
