date field

Hi,
I have a date field in my db table.
How can I get the date and split it into 3 parts in order to update it.
for ex.06/05/2005
I want 3 combo box (month/day/year)
How can each of them contain the specific field info.

You can use the db funtions like Year(dt), monthName(dt)....
OR
The similar .Net Date class methods
OR
Just the String.Split()
