Default Beginners ASP 3.0 Book, Ch12

I get this msg when running the Connect2.asp:

Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005)
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'c:\www_bcc\scratch\Movie2000.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
/balboacarcare/scratch/connect2.asp, line 23

Why is this?

Hi there,

It looks like your web server does not have the right permissions to access the database and / or folder it resides in.

To solve this, use a Windows Explorer to browse to your c:\www_bcc\scratch\ folder. Right-click it, choose Security and then add IUSR_MachineName (where MachineName is the name of your computer) to the list with authorized users. Make sure this user has a least read and change permissions because it also needs to write out temporary lock-files to the folder.

This will work when you're IIS as your web server.
