I took a course in ASP using the Active Server Pages 3.0 book (Wrox), but I couldn't find anything about:
1. how to generate an automatic notifications, emails, when a specific event is taking place.
2. Random function to generate random numbers, characters, etc.
Can you help please. Are you aware of any wrox ASP books that have the above two items. Your help is really appreciated. Thanks :)

If you want to send email, use CDONTS (http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...lient&q=cdonts) which will handle this, you just need to work out how and when you are going to send the email.

If you want Random numbers check out the Randomize and Rnd functions.
