Yes. This is correct. But the locationbar will not change. This means, even after the page is loaded, the location bar will contain the address

http://www.yoursite.com/?id=1.

Correct. The browser doesn't change the addressbar. However, if you dump the ServerVariables collection, you'll see Default.asp?Id=1 being the SCRIPT_NAME (or whatever ServerVariables holds the name of the requested page)

So, as far as the server is concerned, it is Default.asp that is requested. In the browser it appears as if you requested just a folder.
