IIS not responding, ASP Queuing
Hi,
We have a problem with IIS.
IIS hosts several sites (40+) on one server (Windows 2000 server). All sites have an identical setup (only a different database): ASP in combination with MS SQL server 2000 (EnterPrise) and some dll's.
The problem has something to do with IIS. The problem does not occur directly after the reboot of the server, but after some time. When the problem occurs IIS is still running, but it does not process ASP requests.
In Internet Explorer the loading of the webpage doesn't response.
When we look into the performance monitor of Windows, we see that the "Requests Executing" is 25 (= default value of ASPProcessorThreadMax) and that "Requests Queued" is increasing (> 1000). "% Processor Time" is around 10%.
"Request Succeeded" does not grow anymore.
Setting "ASPProcessorThreadMax" to 75 didn't help. It seems to make it even worse. Now in a timespan of 7 hours the problem occurred 3 times. Before changing the ASPProcessorThreadMax setting it happened once a day. (Still way too much)
Has somebody encountered the same problem or can somebody help us with this?
Regards,
Marco van Schaijk
