If you only want to make this work on your local machine, you can also add an entry in the lmhosts file.

You can do this through the settings for your network connection on the TCP/IP settings section. Don't know the exact steps, but Google does... ;)

I have passed on the DNS issue onto the guys who have access to the DNS server. I am happy the external issue is fixed..
