Default sending multiple mail

Hi,

1. I am sending a multiple mail to all the managers. The content of the email is the employee time sheet of their subordinate.

At first evrythings work fines... but when it get to this one managers who have lots of subordinates..it stop and never send a mail.

I have this error..
--CDO.Message.1 error '80004005'
--Unspecified error
--/timesheet/mail_timesheet_summary_testa.asp, line 386

line 386 : objmail.send
Im using CDO.Message
The size of the email that has an error is 128kb only

2. Is there limitation in size or no. of characters that can be put inside the "objmail.HTMLBody".

Thanks and Hoping for immediate reply.

Mary

If there is a size limit IMO wouldnt be less than 128kb. I have never had a size problem.

> Have you sent a message successfully to this problematic address?
> Are you using the CDOSYS mail methos/code (this is reccomended)?

Did you think of trial and error? Reduce the contents of this message, does it send now? NOTE - it cound be some bad contents and not the length.

Hi Mat41,

1. Yes, I have sent (many times) successfully to this problematic address.
2. We want to standardized the tools that we are using CDO.
3. I tried to removed some contents and its working fine. but if i add additional html code e.g. font. or just a display text 'a' then it will stop working....

That's why i asked if there's limitation in the objmail.htmlbody

Anyway, thanks u so much for info.
Mary

The CDOSYS code is all over the net, is the roccomended method and should be used.

Anyhow, you say:
;;;but if i add additional html code e.g. font. or just a display text 'a' then it will stop working....

Are you sure your syntax is correct? From the description above (which would have been useful to start with) size is not your problem. If you insist on not useing the reccomended mail method you are going to have to use trial and error to find the bit of code which is behaving badly. Post the code where your email fails, error, line number etc...

I would suggest:

1) check out the mail server setting, is there any restriction?
2) Check out your server setting?

Otherwise there coludn't be any reason, your code shouldn't work

Ive never had a size limitation with CDO unless its on the server that you are using to send the email. I think Matt is on the right track.
