I'm working on a document management app that saves scanned docs as PDF files in a local directory, then saves document metadata in an Internet-based SQL server. The SQL server is then queried to retrieve document info and links are created that point to the files. SQL returns the correct info, and vbscript points to the proper local directory and file, but I can't get the browser to open the document in a target frame. If I open a test doc locally it works fine. Any ideas are appreciated.

It sounds like your folder location is "outside" of the Inetpub folder structure. So try the following:

1st make sure the folder which houses your document is shared

2nd create a virtual directory to the location of the local folder holding the documents.

3rd you should now be able to call documents via the following type of link: www.[yourwebsite].com/[virtual directory name]/[document name]
