Default Plotting Coordinates on world map

I have sets of geographical coordinates which have names associated. EG:

Darwin NT > 12 28S, 130 50E
Auckland NZ > 36 52.2S, 174 46.2E
Bangkok THAILAND > 13 45N, 100 31.1E
Brisbane QLD > 27 28S, 153 2E
Cairns QLD > 16 56S, 145 45E
Diego Garcia - USA > 7 14S, 72 26E
Guam > 13 24N, 144 41E
Nadi FIJI > 17 47S, 177 41E
Taipei TAIWAN > 25 1.1N, 121 27E
Tokyo JAPAN > 35 42N, 139 46.1E

Each incident which comes into my OHS/environment system happens on a ship. These incident reports have cooords. Simply put I wish to plot using dots or similar on a basic map of the world. I am wondering if anyone has done this before or something similar? Maybe there is something out there that will reduce the wok required to achieve this therefore preventing me from recreating the wheel. I imagine a fairly complex and time consuming wheel.

For some starter ASP-based code, look at my zipcodes-based example, here:

p.s.: Since you already have the Lat/Long, this is pretty much a piece of cake with google maps. First things first, go get yourself a google maps id. Free, but necessary.

p.p.s.: If it takes longer than a couple of hours, you are working too hard. Come ask for help.
