Hi & Hello,

I wrote an ASP page to the
Index Server on the server machine for searching purpose. I am informed that the Index Server is installed.

I am getting this error ...
    Error Type:
    CreateRecordset (0x80041820)
    Service is not running.

I am not sure of the real meaning in this error message, Index Server
problem or asp coding problem?

What may be the problem ? & what can be the solution ?

This error I am getting when I am executing my search code written in .asp... The OS I am using is Windows 2000 ... & the same code works fine on Windows NT!

Hi Samir,

Are you sure the Index Server is running? And if it is, are you referencing the correct Index Server? Maybe you tried to set up a connection to your local Index Server, while you're trying to get to a remote server?
