Default converting Crystal Reports to RDL files

I am working on converting Crystal Reports to RDL files. I want to convert my reports to an RDL file, so I can use Reporting Services in MS SQL and Visual Studio.Net- instead of Crystal. I have two questions:

I have done a lot of research into this and it seems there are paid services such as Hitachi consulting that will do this and http://www.rpttosql.com. However, my company is not willing to pay for such services. So what I have done, is convert the Crystal Report to XML using Crystal 9.
