executing sql command

I'm using crystal report ver 8.01.8
Database: DataFlex

Why is the "Show SQL Query" option grayed out during the design phrase. I want to run a SQL on a report, but the option to perform a command is grayed out.

I'm using 4 tables that are linked together. There are several data object that uses formulas on the report.
