Default ReportDocument problems

I just started the Professional Crystal Reports book and in going through the 2nd chapter where you create a report and then add it to a form by utilizing the reportdocument component.

When I attempt to add the report as it says, I click OK and nothing happens when I choose my report from the drop down. If I select untyped report, it adds it fine.

Also, I am not sure what the reportdocument component is for, can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.
