passing parameter values to the crystal report

i want to develop a sales report that summarizes sales by date. given the date range the report should summarize the report on a daily/weekly basis. how to pass the Parameter fields to the report programmatically bypassing the 'Enter Parameter Values' dialog box in crystal reports.
