Beginner Query

Hi All,
I am a beginner in BO XI/Crystal reports 11.5. I have developed a Universe on top of my Tranactional DB. Is Crystal reports on top of universe a better idea rather that developing the reports in Desktop/Web Intelligence.Can someone tell me the pros and cons of
both the approaches...
