Default Google toolbar visually interfering with form

The Google toolbar seems to make <input type="text"... areas a horrible yellow color. Why is this?

The contact page on the web site in my signature is a good example of it completley ruining a pages look and feel. I have a style for input areas:

input {font-family: verdana,Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #000000; border: 1px #999999 solid;background-color:#eeeeee;}

which gets completely ignored if this toolbar is installed. Can anybody shed some light on this?

Because you have told it to. It's one of its options. I think it's called Autofill forms. The color tells you what fields it's able to fill in automatically.

I dont run the toolbar however was on a machine earlier which does. Its seems installing this toolbar is all it takes to get this horrid yellow color.

FYI - There is no need to tell it, it does it all by its self.

So the person who uses that machine uses Googlebar and its Autofill function. :)

Some other browsers, for example Opera, have similar functionality built in. Not to speak of all form filler programs that use something similar. If you use a tool to autofill forms it must in some way denote what fields it is able to fill.

Yes they do. I uninstalled the toolbar and re-installed it to see if it turned its self on by default, it seems to. Cheers for the info on it. I am aware why its doing it, I guess the purpose of the post was to try n stop it. Since its client related I guess there is no way? CSS being so powerful I thought someone here may have done it

Anyhow as mentioned in my other CSS post thankyou for your time. Its home time in Aussie now, you have a nice day :o)

There used to be a way with JS. I don't know if it's still good. Anyway, I don't think one should do that. It's a user choice. User tend to make the choices they do because they want them.

You make a good point - I just dont like my intended style being molested...

If anyone has a way to override this it would be appriciated.
