Never feel bad about struggling with centering in CSS. For those people that give up on CSS and go back to markup based layout, centering is what gets about half of them. It's pretty embarrasing that something so much cooler and so much more advanced than table-based layouts can't even center something without all these gyrations. Stick with it. It isn't easy, but they'll get it under control. And in the meantime you CAN do it. :) It's just tough.
