Default Two Column Formatting problem


i am facing a strange problem with my page,
it is simple two column page, with header and footer,

here is the page link for reference

this works in FF, but not in IE 6

in this page if i Remove one CSS Rule

.twoColFixLtHdr #mainContent  p {
    font-style:italic; <---- Remove This Line
this code works fine,

infact, if i use this line in (body/div/class anywhere) Font-Style : Italics or Oblique, it does the same, disturbs two column setting

though, i have some basic knowledge of CSS, but could not found what is the problem, and i have to use italics property many a times...

IE6 has problems with italic font, couple of them and fixes are explained here

I tried them the given link with no success :-(

Hope you might find fix for this problem

I design liquid layouts, so it may be a little different than what you're trying to do. However, I always try to leave one extra em of space than it looks like I need to support the major browsers. You just never know how people have their system's configured, so it's best to have a little extra wiggle room.

And added whitespace in a design is no bad thing either. ;)
