images folder
Hmm, I've got win xp home and have set up a yahoo freebie webspace. The only problem i'm getting is 'images folder is not in site' panel flashes even though it clearly is there and selected. Wot to do? should it be a virtual address not the physical (on my hard drive) version it's currently set to?
I'm a newbie hence only on the cooking place exercise. HELP

Is the Images directory a descendant of the root folder on the Local tab?
How does your Local tab look like?

Hi Imar,
I think I've solved it (just) it was related to my confusion regarding the 'beginning Dreamweavermx' book (I'm using a remote site not a localhost site - xp home not pro). I just re- made the whole site definition and it worked. Immense thanks to your response and my apologies for being a plonker . Would you know if it's possible to use xp pro alongside 'home', what would you advise?
cheers

What do you mean with "use xp pro alongside 'home'"?
Are you trying to create a multi-boot system where you can choose between Home and Pro at boot time?
That's certainly possible, although a bit off-topic for this thread. Search Google for multi boot OS XP Home Pro and you'll find lots od results.
Did you consider installing Pro instead of Home?
Cheers,
Imar

yup, a multi boot system.
Just wondering if it would be more beneficial with regards to making websites and such.
I'll give google a whirl and see where it leads me.
Cheers Imar,
Lee

Well, it's certainly possible, but I don't think it will help in developing sites.
Once you boot one system, you cannot see or connect to the other. Only one OS can be booted at the time.
If you need multiple OS's at the same time, look into products like Microsoft Virtual PC.
Cheers,
Imar

I never said that XP Pro doesn't have any advantages; I said having both OSes at the same time doesn't really help ;)
You're probably better of with XP Pro, as it comes with IIS, the web server you can use when developing local web sites.
Cheers,
Imar
