Default Newbie Help with DW MX 2004 and Access Database

Hello all hope you had a great week. I am needing assistance with Dreamweaver populating an Access database. Please know that I have read thru the MX 2004 Bible, I have looked thru this forum and done many searches on Google and still can not figure this out.

I would like to create a form that will allow me to have a couple of pulled down menus that are getting there info from a database. I think I have that correct at this time my problem is that I would also like to have a couple of text boxes i.e.: Name and Suggestions boxes that will populate a tables in an Access database. Has anyone seen any tutorials on line or would be willing to share there DW Jedi skills with me?

I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004, MS Access, IIS, and the page is .asp

Thank for you time.

Ralph

There should be in menus a dropdown menu with options to take data from a database. Then you can just put some boxes and use dreamweavers insert record behavior.
More about access and asp go to http://www.webthang.co.uk

Hello, Soam.

I STRONGLY recommend you buy "Beginning Dreamweaver MX 2004" , Wrox Publisher, from Charles E. Brown, Imar Spaanjaars (yes, the very one that solves a lot of our questions in this forum!) and Todd Marks.

I use this book in an almost dayly basis and as far as dealing with databases ("without code by hand") - in particular Access - is concerned, it is really great. It also gives you "insight" on the coding automatically generated by Dreamweaver and now I start getting confidence in "adapting" the automatic code to my needs.

Well, that´s all. It´s a great investment if you want to make Dreamweaver works for you!

Good luck,
fskilnik.
