Default need help

Where on the internet can I find a place to get step-by-step help with building and updating my website? I currently have a small site built and online, but I know there are lots of flaws because I'm new to this and it is the first website I ever attempted to build. I managed to build it, but once I got it uploaded and online I can't seem to figure out how to update or maintain it. It also has to be optimized for search engines and I'm not sure how to do this either. I have no experience with web design or using dreamweaver. I've been trying to teach myself from books and tutorials, but they only tell a person the basics. Is there any ways of getting help that won't cost me a fortune? Thanks :)
