Default Session Variables

Hi,
here's my problem, I'm trying to do a login page, but since I used Apache HTTP Server, it does'nt work anymore. I used PWS (Personal Web Server) before, and was working find. I switched to Apache because it is better. Is there something I have to set in Apache that can refer to session Variables? It seems like its not keeping track of it. I know that in php there's a line to add, but maybe in ASP its the same problem? Thank you.

Are you using Apache with ASP????? Are you using stuff like Chilli Soft, or does it work for you just out of the box?

ASP Sessions won't just work on other Web servers. You'll need IIS, PWS or some kind of third party tool that runs on a different platform / OS. Or am I missing something here?

Right, so you *do* use a third party product.

Anyway, if other pages works as expected, it may be a problem with the login page. Can you post the relevant portions of the page so we can take a look at it and try to figure out the problem?

Cheers,

Imar

Like I said, I'm sure its not the dreamweaver or login page, because I have tested it with PWS and it works fine. I did a test page (only 2 text boxes and a post button) with dreamweaver and add the login server behaviors, and did'nt work either... So I'm sure its not the coding... like I said, I know in php you have to add something like session start() or something like that... I'm pretty sure its my Apache things...

I know that when I'm using PWS its sends the complet path (ex: http://mysite.com/index.asp) but with Apache its different, its always (http://mysite.com) maybe the session variable is not pass because the option is not on? what is the option?

If you need more info, continue your posting :) and thank you for the help.

Ah, OK. I see now what kind of setup you have.

I searched through some of my bookmarks for iASP and found the following:

iASP provides complete remote management and configuration support. The product comes with an ADMIN server and Halcyon's Remote Console Applet (RCA). The RCA provides a browser-based interface for configuring all aspects of iASP's behavior including security, error/connection logs, session management, servlet settings, object pooling, and more. The RCA also provides a user interface for an ASP application paradigm similar to what is provided through the Microsoft Management Console for IIS.

It looks to me you're right: You may need to enable sessions somewhere; but not on the page level, but on the app level.

Did you check this out: http://iasp.mediahost.org/docs/featu...plication.html

Cheers,

Imar

I'm getting mad now.... lol I can't access the darn IAsp console... I don't understand what they mean... I get an error while trying to access the console, it says that I can't find file mangerservlet or something like that ...... darn I'm getting bored trying to fix that problem.... If only I knew how to program it my self or if only my provider could unwrap port 80 on their servers... I could use PWS...
