VB (and VBA) has a variety of data types. It has String, which is a variable length string of characters, Integer, which is a 2-byte whole number, Long, which is a 4-byte integer, and others, one of which is the type Single, meaning single-precision floating point number.
This statement ekes out the necessary space in memory to hold a Single, and sets âpctDoneâ as the variable name by which to refer to that memory location's contents.
