Long Name truncated with SendMail

I am creating a function to create a copy of a workbook and then send it via email. The file name should include, if possible, a date and a case number for identification by the recipient. The file saves just fine, but when it is email, it is sent in 8.3 format. I am usinging GroupWise as a mail client which could be the problem, but does anyone know if I can get the entire file name as part of the email?
