Default What does it means in a EXCEL formula?!

Well I don't know what the characters {} means in this formula, I have to know what it means.

Example (I find a lot of formula examples but I can't not replicated because I don't know what is use of {} characters):

{=Sum(IF((B4:B7)=C17);G4:G7}

Please reply me.

Hi!

The curly brackets {} indicate that you are working with arrays. Try Help and enter "arrays" in the search mode. From the dropdown list, "About array formulas and how to enter them" would be a good starting point.
Best of luck.
