Hi all,

I want to create a pivot report in excel but when I select the source file on c:\test.xls , which is a simple excel file with three colums its prompts me with the error "Reference is not valid" followed by Cannot Open PivotTable Source file 'test.xls'


this is the source range I use in the pivor wizard.
step 1 (select source data)
Microsoft Office Excel or database
step 2 (where is the data want to use?"
Range: C:\test.xls'!Sheet1!$A$1:$C$2
step 3 (Where do you want to put the PivotTable report?)
Existing worksheet (Sheet1!$A$1) which is output.xls

then I click finish and the error pops up 'Cannot Open PivotTable Source file 'test.xls'

Does somebody knows how this can be achieved without errors?
