Default Problems with doing compare

I have a workbook of data from several sources. My challenge is comparing "like" product codes. I have the formulas to do this, but my problem is that they don't work unless I copy and paste the "like" data into a cell with the same value, only without the copy/paste....I get a "no match" for some reason. I think it's in the formatting, but I have tried so many different ways to cleanup the formatting or to make it generic that I am banging my head against the wall. I have been to MS site, download trial Excel software compare programs, etc. to no avail. On the surface, this should be easy. Reconcile data from one sheet to another. However, I can't sort the data to ascending, I just want to compare one cell to see if there is comparable data in another column without using ascending (VLOOKUP). If I use "clean" worksheets, I can get the =ISNA(Match...." formula to work, but using the existing data sheets, it will not. I tried to do a blanket format, and that didn't work either. Does anyone know of a software package I can do a trial download to see what the transparent (to me) differences are in the worksheets that are not allowing me to compare?

Default

I am not sure of any software program, but if you can give an example of what is not matching in a spreadsheet I will take a look
